Widely regarded as one of Italy’s leading musical personalities, Epifanio Comis has built an extraordinary international career spanning performance, conducting, and education, earning recognition from audiences and critics across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

A graduate of the Vincenzo Bellini Institute of Music in Catania, where he completed his piano studies with highest distinction, Comis later refined his artistry under the renowned pianist Boris Petrushansky at the Euterpa Academy. Over the course of his career, he has received accolades in more than thirty national and international music competitions and has appeared on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.

His concert career has taken him to major venues including Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall in New York, Symphony Hall in Osaka, Teatro Massimo in Catania, and leading concert halls across Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Russia, Romania, Hungary, the United States, Thailand, and China.

As a soloist, Comis has collaborated with distinguished orchestras such as the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kiev Philharmonic, the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra, the Osaka and Kyoto Symphony Orchestras, the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, and many others. His performances in the United States and Asia have received particularly enthusiastic critical acclaim, while his work as a chamber musician has led to collaborations with renowned American ensembles.

Beyond his celebrated performing career, Epifanio Comis is equally admired as a teacher and mentor. He has presented masterclasses at leading institutions including the Manhattan School of Music, the Chopin Academy in Warsaw, the École Normale de Musique de Paris, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and the Music Academy in Bucharest. His students have gone on to achieve success at some of the world’s most prestigious competitions, including the Busoni Competition, the Queen Elisabeth Competition, the Chopin Competition, and the Tchaikovsky Competition.

In recognition of his significant contribution to musical culture, Comis received the prestigious Sergei Rachmaninoff International Prize at the Moscow Conservatory in 2013 for his work promoting Rachmaninoff’s legacy.

Alongside his work as a pianist, Comis has developed an acclaimed conducting career, appearing with leading orchestras internationally and earning praise for interpretations ranging from the complete piano concertos of Rachmaninoff to the piano concertos of Prokofiev.

Currently serving as Director of the Conservatorio Vincenzo Bellini, where he also teaches piano, and as Artistic Director of the International Piano Competition of the Ljubljana International Music Festival, Epifanio Comis continues to shape musical life at the highest level.
